Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer (Fire Alarms & Emergency Lights)

Area: Bourne, Lincolnshire (East Midlands)

Hours: Full Time 40 Hours P/W (Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00)

Contract Term: Permanent


Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen with a rapidly growing, family run fire protection company for a Multi Skilled Fire Protection Engineer in the East Midlands area. Your main duties will include:

 

  • Servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems and associated equipment
  • Servicing and maintenance of emergency lighting
  • Occasional servicing, maintenance and installation of portable fire extinguishers and associated ancillary equipment.
  • Occasional servicing and Maintenance of dry risers, hose reels and sprinkler systems.

From time to time you may be required to install/commission new fire alarm systems and carry out small works on existing systems. This is a full time, permanent position with great prospects to progress into a supervisory/management role for the right candidate. A fully kitted and stocked company van is supplied with this position together with a mobile phone, uniform, laptop and fuel card.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

Experience and a recognised qualification in the servicing and maintenance of fire alarms and emergency lighting is a must. Experience and a recognised qualification (FETA, FIA or IFEDA) in the servicing and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers is also desirable although full training can be provided if necessary. Training on mechanical fire systems such as hose reels, dry risers and sprinklers will also be provided.

Applicants must have great communication skills and a good level of literacy in maths and English, and be able to navigate their way around a computer and smart phone.

Applicants must also hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and be aged 21 or over for insurance reasons. An enhanced DBS (CRB) disclosure will also be required due to the nature of some of our clients, the cost of which will be met by the Employer.
